Zambia/Zimbabwe: COSAFA CUP 2013 – FINAL

Hosts Zambia claimed a fourth COSAFA Cup title after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over defending champions Zimbabwe in the final in Ndola on Saturday.
Alex N'gona got the first goal of the game inside five minutes, after which both sides had chances to score. Kabaso Chongo netted again late on.
N’gona blasted the ball home to the delight of the home crowd, who were in celebration mode all through the game.
Bornwell Mwape hit the crossbar later in the half as Chipolopolo were denied a second, while Zambia goalkeeper Danny Munyau was also forced into a number of fine saves.
The match continued to be a tight affair, with chances at a premium, but Zambia got their insurance second goal when Chongo netted in injury-time.
Zambia now join Zimbabwe with four wins in the competition, one more than Angola and South Africa.
South Africa claimed the ‘copper’ medal with a 2-1 victory over Lesotho in the third-place playoff.
Bafana Bafana just about deserved the win as Lesotho scored one penalty and missed another.
Lesotho opened the scoring when Tlale Maile netted from the penalty-spot after a foul in the area.
Mandla Masango had a shot cleared off the line before he did get the equalizer just before the break, sweeping home a shot from the edge of the area.
Hlompho Kekana scored the winner with a curling shot from just inside the penalty-box, before Maile saw his second penalty saved by Wayne Sandilands in the South Africa goal.
